⁴⁰ On the first day you are to take the product^(A) of majestic trees—palm fronds,^(B) boughs of leafy trees,^(C) and willows of the brook^(D)—and rejoice before the Lord your God for seven days. ⁴¹ You are to celebrate it as a festival to the Lord seven days each year. This is a permanent statute for you throughout your generations; you must celebrate it in the seventh month. ⁴² You are to live in booths^(E) for seven days.
